This just couldn't wait....

I just ran across this article.

Here is the gist of it:

WICOMICO CHURCH, Va. (Jan. 6) - A 6-year-old Virginia boy who missed his bus tried to drive to school in his family's sedan -- and crashed.
His parents were charged with child endangerment. State police said the boy suffered only minor injuries and authorities drove him to school after he was evaluated at a local hospital for a bump on his head. He arrived shortly after lunch, Sgt. Tom Cunningham said.
It happened around 7:40 a.m. Monday on Route 360, about 61 miles east of Richmond.

Two things immediately popped in my mind

1. If any of the kids missed the bus, they would go home and plop down in front of the tv or something. I am not sure if that is something I should brag about, but those are the facts.

2. Why in the H&// was the mother still sleeping?! I mean seriously. Apparently, the father wasn't home. He wasn't aware of the situation anyway.

Thank goodness that the little boy wasn't hurt. With the determination this kid has, he'll be president one day.

Mark my words.

How crazy! I have to admire his determination to get to school, though!

I can't believe it, but you totally stole my blog post! ;) When I saw this on CNN I immediately thought that it was a must-know for anyone that read my blog.

Heather, you get me.

That is rather sad. The article said was determined to get to school so he wouldn't miss breakfast and PE, which seems to suggests that he probably wouldn't have gotten breakfast at home. I'm glad he was okay.

My God...that's Parker's age!
I can't even begin to imagine him doing something like this.

I can't imagine a mother sleeping through the morning when her 6 year old is getting ready for school all by himself. That's sad.

She should be charged...
